Building a Stronger Chapter (BSC) workshops is a two day workshop for chapter officers that gives volunteers the opportunity to network with fellow chapter leaders and learn about chapter management resources available through RIMS.

These free, interactive workshops are for RIMS chapter officers only.

Discussions include key issues such as:

• RIMS Resources
• Financing & Reporting
• Planning
• Recognition
• Membership Development
• Communicating Your Chapter’s message

How to request a strategic planning workshop?

These sessions are scheduled on an ad hoc basis at the request of Chapters.

What is a strategic planning workshop?

RIMS Strategic Planning Workshop is a full day workshop conducted by RIMS staff with the Chapter’s officers and full Board.

This session provides the chapter with an opportunity to evaluate their real-time status by exploring Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats, and developing a road map to the future.

Topics include a State of the Chapter Analysis; Developing SP Tools; Mission/Vision; SWOT Analysis; Goal Identification; Prioritization and Selection of “champions”; Identification of key objectives; Open Discussion; Successes/Best Practices; RIMS Services/Programs; Summary and Call to Action.

How to be added to the RIMS and/or a chapter mailing list?

• Click on the LOGIN (Located at the top left of the RIMS website)
• Click on REGISTER NOW (Located at the bottom of the screen)
• Enter your first name, last name and email address and then SUBMIT.
• The website will automatically search to see if you already have a record in our system.
• Enter your contact information and click on CHAPTER to select your chapter preference.
• Once you’ve entered all of your information and selected which chapter you would like to join click on CREATE ACCOUNT.
• You will now be added to the RIMS mailing list and the chapter mailing list.
• Creating an account on the RIMS website does not entitle an individual to RIMS member benefits. To join RIMS visit www.RIMS.org/Jointoday.

Contacting other chapters

RIMS does not release member contact information, however you can contact chapter presidents through the RIMS Web site.  A list of RIMS Chapters is available by going to www.RIMS.org/ChapterDirectory.  By clicking on a chapter’s name, you will be provided with a list of chapter officers.  Click on an officer name to access their phone number and an envelope icon for e-mail.

• CHAPTER OFFICER UPDATE (Under Administrative Tools)
• MANAGE OFFICERS
• THE SYSTEM WILL NOW ENABLE YOU TO CONDUCT A SEARCH TO LOOK UP THE OFFICER YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO THE ROSTER
• ONCE YOU’VE SELECTED THE OFFICER, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ADD THE POSITION AND TERM LIMITS.
• If you are unable to update the roster because your term has expired, e-mail the current list to chapterservices@rims.org.
